Internship Opportunities
Urban Yoga Foundation (UYF) is looking for skilled, bright, and dynamic interns and volunteers to help in our New York office.
We have a competitive and challenging virtual internship and volunteer program that is unpaid and flexible. Interns & Volunteers will work with the Regional Manager, Interns & Volunteer Supervisors, and the Communications Consultant. Activities will range from daily tasks to long-term projects.
Requirements:
- Currently obtaining or recently obtained a BS/BA/MA/MSW/MBA/PhD/PsyD in good academic standing (Minimum GPA requirement: 3.2)
- Related coursework, extracurricular activities, and/or field experience for the specific position for which you are applying
- Fluency in the English language
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiastic self-starter who takes initiative
- Detail oriented and takes direction well
- Efficiently manages time/projects and respects deadlines
- Strong computer skills - MS Office, Database, QuickBooks, and/or Adobe Photoshop skills
- Approximately a 15-20 hour per week commitment
- Commitment/Desire to learn about children’s issues and the nonprofit sector

Accounting/Finance
Bachelors of Accounting background required.

Junior, Senior and Graduate students receiving academic credit for the internship are preferred

Proficiency in WordPress, Web analytics, Google Ads, Search engine optimization, Podcasts, Videocasts and Webinars
Knowledge of PHP and MySQL desirable
- Assisting with market preparation and some administrative duties.
-Collaborating on language and graphics email newsletters and web landing pages
-Photo research
-Use Adobe Photoshop to create graphics for:
- UYF Website Homepage
- Online Newsletters and Articles
- Advertisements both online and tangible
- Marketing material graphical representation of our service offerings.
Research Associate
-Junior, Senior and Graduate students with a strong academic background
- Strong research and documenting ability
-Critical thinking and professional writing skills
-Knowledge of research protocol and data processing
-Strong work ethic and ability to adhere to deadlines
-Compiling and documenting analytical data, factsheets etc for UYF’s ongoing programs; Kids Yoga and Mindfulness, The Bullying Prevention Campaign, and Multi-cultural and Music Experience programs.
-Research and document existing information and data about other organizations working in the field of positive psychology.
-Creating materials for trainings/workshops
-Curriculum development based on facts and findings from ongoing programs
Human Resources (HR)
- Human Resources Management graduate students
-Ability to work independently and manage tasks from start to finish
-Desire to work as part of a team, pitching in where appropriate.

-Complete specially designed Major Interest Projects focused around your interests
-Posting of intern/volunteer positions to job boards
-Ability to manage tasks remotely while meeting deadlines
Web Dev. (Marketing)
-Junior, Senior and Graduate students receiving academic credit for the internship are preferred

Media Arts (Marketing)

Document our programs:
- take photos and videos of our programs
- will include various formats: interviews, testimonials, case studies, live coverage of events
- must be comfortable working with children and teenagers
- Photoshop/Creative Suite proficiency required - for print and web use
- Final Cut/video editing proficiency required
Additional:
- polishing and curating our current/future photo content for Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- creating a media library of our own content – for internal ongoing use
- curating videos, handling subscriptions, social sharing on our YouTube channel
Management
-Business Administration/Social Work graduate students

-Support the Directors in the development and implementation of UYF’s strategic plans and policies
-Serve as an intern leader managing interns based on the intern calendar and your weekly schedule
-Develop and coordinate new projects and initiatives, such as fundraising campaigns
-Assessing and implementing communications and public relations strategy
-Provide leadership and direction for staff, setting an effective agenda and ensuring performance goals are met
-Manage administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the organization.
-Serve as a mentor, coach and guide to lead staff.
-Provide guidance, as requested, for program activities, fundraising and donor management, business development and partnership activities, including outreach, volunteer coordination and partnerships development.
-Assist with design and implementation of program evaluation strategies.
-Work with the staff members to sustain and grow programs and services.
-Support the organization's strategic alliances and partnerships for funding, programming and systemic change.
-Represent the organization to the public, key stakeholders and business partners.

Looking for an internship in the Social Good sector?
Marketing Intern will be closely assisting with the Communications Consultant/Director of Communications (Board of Directors) on an overall year‐long marketing plan, web and print copy, social media research/strategies/updates, small‐scale fundraising campaigns, press releases/media scans/media archiving, photo/video library, event promotions, internal communications, and other projects as needed. Intern will need to be on top of the latest communications tools and resources for non-profits. Intern will need to help with metrics on social media and website performance. Intern will make sure that Marketing files/folders in our central filing will be complete, accurate and up‐to‐date.
Grant Writer (Fundraising and Development)

Research Assistant
Looking for candidates who are currently specializing in Behavioral research and Statistics and have an interest in studying the effects of positive psychology on kids.
-Experience or coursework in behavioral research or statistics preferred.
-Assist in developing Assessment tools
-Processing and analysis of assessment data for Ivy Child programs.
-Ability to convert raw data into tables, charts, and graphs.
-Understanding of basic statistics and English skills
Content Writer (Marketing)
We're looking for writers to assist in content building as well as writing and editing of documents such as research papers, press releases, business letters, etc.
Great writing skills, detail oriented and able to stick to deadlines.
